The municipality of Miklavž na Dravskem polju lies entirely on the Drava field, which is a transition area between the sub-Pannonian and sub-Alpine northeastern Slovenia. The Drava field borders on Pohorje in the west, Drava valley in the northwest, Slovenske Gorice in the north and east, and gradually passes into the Ptuj field in the south.
The construction history with architectural features and cultural monuments deserves a greater attention, with special emphasis on churches in Miklavž and Dobrovci.
The municipal coat of arms is in the form of a shield. A diagonal line divides it into two parts; two elements – water and land – the Drava River and the Drava field. It also features emblematic symbols of Patron Miklavž: bishop’s stick – the symbol of leadership, book – the symbol of wisdom, three gold bullets – the symbol of prosperity and generosity.
The left part of the coat of arms is divided by waves into four fields, symbolizing four local communities united into one municipality. The connection of all the artistic elements gives us the name of the municipality – Miklavž na Dravskem polju.
