Hajdina

November 11 - the holiday of the Municipality of Hajdina and St. Martin’s parish.

Municipality of

Hajdina

The municipality of Hajdina is one of the smallest municipalities in terms of size, but it certainly has a lot to show with its diverse offer of authentic experiences. The first mention of the place of Hajdina was recorded in medieval documents in 1164. In 1202, it was already divided into Salzburg's Spodnja Hajdina and the provincial principality of Zgornja Hajdina with its mansion and church. Today, it consists of seven settlements: Draženci, Gerečja vas, Hajdoše, Skorba, Slovenja vas, Spodnja Hajdina and Zgornja Hajdina.

Hajdina and its surroundings are among the largest Roman provincial centers of Mithraism in Europe. Here, the Romans left a rich legacy, part of which is represented by sanctuaries dedicated to the god Mithras. In addition to the rich cultural and historical heritage, the area provides many opportunities for recreational activities and has a diverse offer of food and accommodation.
